What Hungry Looks Like
One of the business owners that I started working with recently blew me away the other day. Due to a short week last week after flying back from training in Vegas and a flurry of other presentations that I was committed to last week, I had to schedule a session with him on Saturday at 7 a.m. Not my typical routine but it had to be done if it was going to happen this week. He shot me a text on Friday night and asked if I could reschedule to an earlier time and I asked, “How much earlier?” He said 5 a.m. as he needed to be done by 6:30 as he and his crews were behind and he needed them going early.
Oh, did I mention that this business owner with 8 employees is 18 years old? That’s right, an 18-year-old business owner that is committed to avoiding the school of hard knocks and invested in a coach to lead the way. On top of that, instead of doing what most 18-year-olds are doing on a Friday night, he gets up a 4 am to make a 5 am coaching session. Instead of doing what many business owners do, he didn’t let a change in operational priorities get in the way of his weekly coaching session. My answer to his request was simple, “If it is important enough to show up at 5 am, I’ll be ready and waiting to BRING IT!
When is the last time you got up at 4 am on a Saturday morning to grow yourself and your business? If you needed to, would you? If you didn’t need to, would you do it if there was an opportunity? Do you have the drive and hunger of an 18-year old that is willing to do whatever it takes to win?
If not, the answer is simpler than you think.
